  Carlene's creativity and love of art and design has lead her from her home in Hackney, to working in Italy via Art School in Scotland.
  
  Growing up in an area with a wonderful mix of cultures has hugely impacted on her work and the flavours and colours of life in inner city areas and the issues that many people face through life burst through her designs. Inspired by her observations of our world, how we are living, our visual and physical surroundings, our life styles and the issues that we face Carlene creates fantastic designs which reflect our world.
  
  Using a wide range of materials and medium in her design process; from dusty smudgy chalks and pastels, collage and sharp grainy pencil work to flowing watery inks and water colours, every design starts from hand drawing, mark-making and personal photography. Carlene stunning designs feature all the effects and textures created in her freehand drawing and mark-making and so Carlene stays true to her belief that this is where originality and innovation lie; in the eye, the imagination and the creativity of the artist designer.
  
  Carlene’s work constantly explores new themes and imagery, sometimes combining these with traditional techniques, and always creating beautiful, original designs.
